Leica ASP300 Fully Enclosed Tissue Processor

Leica ASP300 Fully Enclosed Tissue Processor
Designed for routine and research histopathology of up to 300 cassettes
Proven technology combined with top quality components.
Straightforward routine user operations by an intuitive user interface, a variety of “smart” features, such as Reagent Management System and quick start for commonly used programs, improve specimen quality and laboratory economy.

In histopathology, consistently high sample quality is of paramount importance – day after day and year after year. The Leica ASP300 S Tissue Processor was specially developed with this mind: Proven and enhanced technology with an innovative user interface and a unique design make the Leica ASP300 S one of the most reliable instruments available for tissue processing.
Quick access to favorite programs
Frequently used programs can be defined as "favorites" and started with a single touch. This smart start function also includes other parameters such as an end-time programming option. The user-friendly smart start helps avoid user errors and improves the reliability of operation.
Safety at the workplace
Contaminated air is safely kept in the instrument by an active condenser. The internal air handling system is completed by an activated carbon filter which absorbs any remaining fumes. All reagents (including paraffin) are drained through an external hose system, completely preventing user exposure.
Minimized reagent carry-over
The risk of reagent carry-over is minimized by an improved reagent bottle and module design and a software-controlled, three-stage drain system.
Active paraffin cleaning
Solvent contaminants are safely removed from the paraffin by simply touching a key on the screen. The extraction process ensures efficient paraffin cleaning, which extends paraffin life, improves sample quality and reduces operation costs.
Reagent management system
The improved Reagent Management System (RMS) allows critical data to be assessed at a glance and ensures that all reagents are used in order of cleanliness. The RMS helps reduce reagent consumption and optimizes sample quality.

The Leica ASP300 S is a freestanding, fully- enclosed vacuum tissue processor for pro- grammable processing of histological tissue specimens in the fields of pathology and clinical histology.
The instrument features 3 pressure/vacuum options (pressure & vacuum, pressure only, vacuum only) as well as further option of processing under ambient conditions. Processing temperatures are programmable for each individual step (10 reagent stations and three paraffin wax baths). The instrument provides three cleaning stations plus an op- tional connection for an external cleaning station. The 4.5-liter processing retort is made of electropolished stainless steel for easy cleaning with a contact-free optical sensor to check the fluid level.
Retort capacity for up to 300 standard cassettes when using metal baskets or 252 standard cassettes when using the microwave resistant basket set for ASP300 S (optional accessory). A selection of four further cleaning programs, which can be customized by the operator, are available. The 3-step retort draining system is tailored to minimize reagent carry-over.
A multi-language user interface combined with a new graphical program display allows even junior operators to quickly become familiar with the system. Ease of use is supported further by direct-access on-line help cover- ing each individual processing step.
In addition laboratory-specific custom help (or SOP for GLP) can be installed by the user. The quick-start feature (from 'Favorites' screen) allows the user to access the in- strument without loosing valuable time.
